What We Do
The
Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts
At
the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, we have one mission: to support
exceptional talent. And we accomplish this in everything we do - from
our
internationally-renowned Artist-in-Residency program and special events
programming to our world class exhibitions and our Art 4 Omaha community
art projects. Since 1981, the Bemis Center has provided close to seven
hundred artists
from around the globe with well-equipped studio spaces, living accomodations
and
monthly stipends. In Omaha, artists live and work within a supportive
community
where they experience growth, experiment artistically and confront
new challenges.
We also present a wide variety of programming that brings the very
best in
contemporary art directly to the public. Our events include world-class
rotating
exhibitions, the cutting-edge, community-curated bemisUNDERGROUND
program,
educational Art Talks, Video Screenings, Gallery Talks, quarterly
workshops, Open
Studios and Slide Jams, as well as our community-based Art 4 Omaha
projects.
